Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: August 7, 2026

stillnus makes things meant to help people rest. That should be true of this website too. We want it to work for everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, need larger text, or use other assistive technology.

The standard we are working toward

We are working toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the guidelines most widely used to judge whether a website is accessible.

We want to be straightforward with you: we have not finished. This page describes what we have fixed, what we know is still wrong, and how to reach a human if something gets in your way.

What we have done

On August 7, 2026 we audited the site against WCAG 2.1 Level AA and made these changes:

  • Corrected the text colours across the homepage, shop, and product pages. Several labels and captions had been far too faint to read, one as low as a 1.85:1 contrast ratio against its background where the standard asks for at least 4.5:1.
  • Darkened the fine print at checkout, including the terms and privacy text, which had been among the least readable text on the site.
  • Underlined links that sit inside blocks of text, so they no longer rely on colour alone to be recognisable.
  • Added a “Skip to main content” link, so people navigating by keyboard can jump past the menu.
  • Added a visible outline around whatever element currently has keyboard focus.
  • Gave every page a properly labelled main content area.

What we know is still not right

  • Payment area. Parts of our checkout are supplied by our payment provider and sit inside components we do not directly control. Automated testing flags a focus-handling problem in one of the express payment buttons. We are working with the provider’s plugin to resolve it. If you have trouble completing a purchase, please use the contact details below and we will take your order personally.
  • Very small text. Some category labels and captions are set at 9 to 10 pixels. This now meets the contrast standard, but it is still smaller than we would like, and we intend to increase it.
  • Testing we have not finished. Automated tools catch only a portion of accessibility problems. We have not yet completed a full manual review with a screen reader, a complete keyboard-only walkthrough of the buying process, or testing at 200% zoom. These are planned.
  • Older journal posts. Some of our earlier articles may have images with incomplete descriptions or headings that are out of order.

If something does not work for you

Please tell us. You do not need to explain or justify anything, and there is no wrong way to describe the problem.

Email hello@stillnus.com with “Accessibility” in the subject line. We aim to reply within five business days.

It helps if you can tell us the page you were on and what happened, but send us whatever you have and we will work it out.

Another way to order

If any part of this site prevents you from buying something, email hello@stillnus.com and we will take your order by email and send a secure payment link. You will not pay more for ordering this way.

How we tested

This site was tested using axe-core 4.12 against WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA, on the homepage, shop, product pages, cart, and checkout, at both desktop and mobile widths. We will update this page as we complete further testing and fixes.
