stillnus / Kids comfort

For bumps, bruises, and the crying that comes after

Three soft compresses that stay flexible in the freezer, so they curve around a knee instead of jabbing it. Gently cool rather than shockingly cold — which is exactly why a child will keep one on the sore spot.

A frozen gel pack is a brick. This isn’t.

Most children’s ice packs go rigid in the freezer, which is the wrong texture and the wrong temperature for a four-year-old with a scraped knee. These stay soft, so they wrap around the part that actually hurts — and they are gently cool rather than harsh, so a child will hold one there themselves instead of pushing it away.

  • Flexible frozenCurves around knees, elbows and foreheads instead of pressing flat against them.
  • Gentle cooling, not shocking coldComforting rather than startling. The kind of cool a child will actually tolerate.
  • Gel-free, nothing rigidSoft fabric outside, organic flaxseed and lavender inside. Nothing to crack, nothing to leak.
  • Sized for small bodiesMade for children, not an adult pack cut down to size.

“We keep these in the freezer and offer for any boo boos or headaches. We love how soft they are, and not too cold for our kids to hold themselves.”

Freezer for the fall. Microwave for the growing pains.

Frozen

Bumps, bruises and fevers

For the knock off the coffee table, the swelling that follows, and the flushed forehead of a fever. Cool and soft enough to stay where you put it.

Warmed

Aches and growing pains

Short bursts in the microwave for sore legs, tummy aches, and the growing pains that turn up at eleven at night for no reason at all.

Three in the set, so one is always cold

A tan gingham star, a charcoal circle, and an ivory bouclé heart. Keep them in the freezer door and there is always one ready — which matters, because the second one is needed there is no time to wait for anything to chill.

Questions parents ask

Can it go straight on skin?

Yes. The soft fabric is gentle enough for direct contact, which is the main reason it works better on a small body than a rigid gel pack. Keep an eye on how long it stays in one place with very young children.

How cold does it actually get?

Gently cold, not shockingly cold — and that is deliberate. A hard freezer pack is often too much for a child to hold against themselves. This gives comforting coolness a child will actually keep on the sore spot instead of pushing away. If you are looking for the sharp cold of a medical gel pack, this is not that.

Does it get hard in the freezer?

No. It stays soft and flexible, so it curves around a knee or an elbow rather than pressing into it.

Can these be warmed too?

Yes. Warm them in the microwave in short bursts for aches and growing pains. Always test the temperature yourself before handing it to a child.

What age are they for?

They are sized for small bodies and used by children of all ages. As with anything warm or cold, an adult should be the one handling the temperature.

Is there gel or hard plastic inside?

None. Soft fabric outside, organic flaxseed and lavender inside. Nothing rigid to crack and no gel to leak.

How do I clean them?

Spot clean the fabric and air dry. The covers do not come off and the fill cannot be submerged, so please do not machine wash them.
