Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 7, 2026
Last updated: August 7, 2026
This policy explains what information stillnus collects when you visit www.stillnus.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language, and we have tried to describe what actually happens on this site rather than what a template says.
stillnus is a small handmade goods business based in Irvine, California. We sell to customers in the United States and Canada. If you have any question about this policy, write to us at hello@stillnus.com and a person will answer you.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Order information — your name, billing and shipping address, email address, and phone number when you place an order.
- Payment information — your card details are entered on our checkout page but are transmitted directly to our payment processor, Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number. We do receive the last four digits, the card brand, and whether the payment succeeded.
- Account information — if you create an account, your username, password (stored encrypted), and order history.
- Email sign-ups — your email address if you join our list, and your name if you provide it.
- Messages — anything you send us through our contact form, wholesale inquiry form, or by email.
- Reviews — the name, rating, and text you submit if you review a product.
- Checkout in progress — if you enter your email address at checkout but do not complete the order, we store that address so we can send you a reminder. You can opt out of these reminders at any time using the unsubscribe link, or by emailing us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and connection data — your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, screen size, and language setting.
- Usage data — which pages you view, what you click, how long you stay, what you add to your cart, and which site referred you.
- Session recordings and heatmaps — we use Microsoft Clarity, which records how visitors move through the site, including mouse movement, scrolling, clicks, and taps. This is used to find confusing or broken parts of the site. Clarity is configured to mask text you type into form fields, but you should assume that your general behaviour on a page may be recorded and replayed by us. See section 5 for how to opt out.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see section 4.
2. How we use your information
- To process, fulfil, and deliver your order, and to handle returns and exchanges.
- To send you order confirmations, shipping notifications, and customer service replies.
- To send marketing email, but only if you asked us to, and you can unsubscribe from every one.
- To remind you about an order you started but did not finish.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To show and measure advertising, including ads shown to you on other companies’ platforms.
- To prevent fraud and to keep the site secure.
- To meet our tax, accounting, and other legal obligations.
3. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share it with the service providers below, who each receive only what they need to do their job. Some advertising and analytics sharing may be considered “sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising” under California law, so we describe it plainly here.
Running the store
- SiteGround — website hosting; holds everything stored on the site.
- Automattic / WooCommerce & Jetpack — store software, shipping and tax calculation, and site statistics.
Payments and fulfilment
- Stripe — processes card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay payments. Stripe handles your card details under its own privacy policy.
- Shipping carriers — receive your name and delivery address so they can deliver your parcel.
Analytics and site improvement
- Google Analytics — traffic and behaviour measurement.
- Microsoft Clarity — session recordings and heatmaps, as described above.
Advertising
- Google (Google Ads, Merchant Center) — to run and measure our search and shopping ads.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — the Meta pixel measures whether an ad led to a visit or a purchase.
- Pinterest — conversion tracking and product catalogue.
Email and reviews
- Klaviyo and Mailchimp — to store our email list and send newsletters.
- Customer Reviews for WooCommerce — to collect and display product reviews.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to enforce our terms, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business. If that last one ever happens, we will say so on this page first.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses:
- Essential cookies — to keep your cart and your logged-in session working. The site cannot function without these.
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, to understand how the site is used.
- Advertising cookies — Google, Meta, and Pinterest, to measure ads and to show you relevant ones elsewhere.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, checkout will not work.
5. Your choices
- Marketing email — click “unsubscribe” in any email, or write to hello@stillnus.com.
- Session recording — you can opt out of Microsoft Clarity by enabling your browser’s Do Not Track setting, or by using a tracking-blocker extension.
- Google Analytics — install Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
- Google advertising — adjust your Google Ad Settings.
- Meta advertising — adjust your ad preferences inside Facebook or Instagram.
- Cookies generally — use your browser’s privacy settings.
- Your data — to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, email hello@stillnus.com. We will respond within 45 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may have to keep some records (such as completed orders) to meet tax and accounting obligations.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is still no shared industry standard for how a website should respond to one. This site does not change its behaviour in response to Do Not Track signals, with one exception: Microsoft Clarity honours them and will not record your session. Third parties that collect information through this site may also respond to these signals differently, and we do not control that.
7. California residents
If you live in California, this section is for you.
California’s Online Privacy Protection Act requires us to tell you what categories of personal information we collect, who we share it with, how you can review and change it, and how we announce changes to this policy. Sections 1, 3, 5, and 10 cover those points.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share device and usage information with Google, Meta, and Pinterest for advertising, which California law may treat as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising. If you would rather we did not, use the opt-outs in section 5 or email us and we will honour the request.
Whatever choice you make, we will not deny you products, charge you a different price, or give you a lower level of service.
To make any privacy request, email hello@stillnus.com with the subject line “Privacy request”.
8. Canadian residents
We ship to Canada. We collect, use, and disclose your personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. You may ask what we hold about you and request a correction at hello@stillnus.com. Your information is stored on servers in the United States and is therefore subject to United States law.
9. How long we keep information, and how we protect it
We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require, which is generally seven years. We keep marketing contacts until you unsubscribe. We keep analytics and session-recording data for the retention period set by each provider, which is typically shorter.
The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, payment details go directly to Stripe rather than through our servers, and access to the store’s admin area is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
11. Links to other sites
Our pages sometimes link elsewhere. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we do not run, and we encourage you to read their policies.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will say so on the page and, where we can, tell our email subscribers. Earlier versions are available on request.
